Welcome to S.O.A.R., Strands Of Accelerated Reading, a vision I have passionately nurtured throughout my career in education. My unwavering dedication to promoting children’s socio-emotional growth and academic achievement has driven me to create an inclusive and impactful learning environment, especially in multi-sensory reading instruction and literacy development. With the current advancements grounded in the Science of Reading, there’s no better time for me, as CEO and Founder of S.O.A.R, to share my love of teaching and make a lasting difference in our community.
With over twenty years in the educational field, I hold New York State Certifications in Elementary Education (Pre-K – 6th Grade), Literacy, Bilingual/ENL, and Educational Administration. Additionally, I have earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from D’Youville College and two Master of Science Degrees from Buffalo State College and Canisius College, respectively. My qualifications are further enhanced by national training from the Institute of Multi-Sensory Education, which specializes in the Science of Reading and the role of sequential, explicit, multi-sensory learning. My teaching experience spans Kindergarten through 4th Grade in public schools, Spanish in private education, and English as a Second Language for high school students from around the globe. Currently, I serve as a Literacy Coach in a local school district and am dedicated to developing students’ literacy skills through evidence-based, multi-sensory learning.
